Comedies like The Office, How I Met Your Mother, and It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia took up plenty of airtime, but the green shoots of what we recognise as binge TV in 2017 were starting to poke through. Rome was championing the historical epic, packed with sex and violence; the first season of 24 popularised the 'just one more episode' pull we experience regularly now; and Lost was on its second season, threading intrigue and consistent narrative threads through weekly episodes. The time was ripe for something huge like Game of Thrones. Except it was long after 2005 before we had our first taste.
When we last saw Brienne of Tarth, she was representing Sansa's interests as the Lady of Winterfell at the leaders' gathering in King's Landing. It was a season filled with reunions and victory for Brienne. As you'll recall, when Brienne was introduced back in season two, she pledged her allegiance to Stark matriarch Catelyn Stark and made a vow that she would bring the Stark girls home. With Sansa, Arya (and Bran!) all back at Winterfell, Brienne's squire, Podrick, pointed out in episode 704, The Spoils of War," Brienne's vow to Catelyn has finally been fulfilled.
Your Local Library: Your local library will most likely have a decent selection of DVD movies that you can check out for a week or more. My local library tends to be a bit picked over, but if you get on a waiting list you can usually find movies or TV shows you'd enjoy watching.
This was perhaps the most game-changing performance in Idol history. Going into Season 8's top three week, most people would have bet it was Danny Gokey who'd take a place in the following week's finale alongside Adam Lambert. But after Kris's acoustic-folk rendition of Kanye West's Heartless," all bets were off. Suddenly, Kris was the man to beat. He made it to the finale over Danny after this, in what was a perfect example of an underdog Idol contestant peaking at just the right time.
It's the Caped Crusader, but now how you've seen (or played as) him before. Telltale Games has released its first trailer for BATMAN, an adventure game series about the iconic superhero in Gotham. Unlike the well-received Arkham games by developer Rocksteady Studios, this episodic series will be focusing on the double life of Bruce Wayne and his vigilante alter ego. The trailer starts with his reliable butler, Alfred, asking Bruce to "step out of the shadows" and ensure "there is room for Bruce and Batman" inside the suit. We then see Batman taking out some thugs and catch a glimpse of the Batmobile screeching through a dimly lit street.
Shared experience led to Hepburn and Vautier joining forces and the first Fertility Fest took place in London and Birmingham alongside The Quiet House. The response was positive. Here was an event that uniquely drew together artists, fertility experts, patients and the public to explore issues related to fertility, families and making babies. A second edition was called for, this time broadening out in scope to become a six-day festival tackling the subject in multifaceted ways.
