The traditional television broadcasting model is changing, and broadcasters (both free-to-air and with paid services), as well as telecommunications companies (cable and IPTV) are facing new challenges, because the Internet is gaining more and more power to control a whole new world of TV viewing. Just recently, I was given the opportunity to attend a seminar in Denver, Colorado to learn more about the SE-5 plus Intrinsic Data Field Analyzer. I must say, I was completely blown away! The endless possibilities for which this instrument can be used are truly remarkable. I only began to read about this technology over the last several years but have never experienced it until now, using the SE-5 plus. From what I understand, this technology has been around since the early 1900's. Yet, very few people at that time understood it well enough to begin to properly share this information with the masses. Also, this type of technology provided a formidable threat to an already powerful orthodox medical community that would have nothing to do with it. It has only been until recently that science has made tremendous advances and evolved enough to help bring this remarkable technology to the forefront.
Families with children who are old enough to do their own laundry can encounter even worse laundry room traffic jams. This doesn't mean I expect or want a dumbed down version of Star Trek Online on a console, it's much the opposite. If I could choose between the two and there were no differences I would take the console coughXBox 360cough version hands down. I'm just a bit jaded and cynical because of the failures of the past. I'd love nothing more than to see STO perfectly playable on both platforms.
While Boston Dynamics' robots make for fascinating - sometimes disturbing - internet videos, they haven't quite crossed into everyday life. That could change sooner rather than later.
