We purchased three chairs from a reputable furniture company just before Christmas. Unfortunately they only have a shop in Gauteng and we live in Cape Town, therefore the order was made by my parents who also privately transported the chairs to Cape Town for us. The chairs were on sale and in perfect condition when my parents made the order. On the 16th of December my parents collected the order (it was a very big order which included several items for my parents and the three chairs for us) and transported it down to Cape Town. When they collected the order all the pieces were wrapped in thick plastic covers. Therefore my parents didn't unwrap everything to check them in detail as it would've taken a considerable amount of time to do this and wrap everything again. The assumption was that the furniture will be in the same condition as it was on the sale floor as they were the last items (therefore on sale.).
